Our staff members have spent many years devoted to pursuing excellence in their field and have attained a certain level of expertise to qualify them as instructors and trainers.
Through extensive training, certification and dedication, our staff has attained mastery in their fields and now enjoy sharing their skill and passing it on to our members. Here are a few of UXL Sports and Fitness's staff members:
Bruce Miller (Co-Owner)
Bruce has a vast background in sports, sports management and facility management. This former Head Coach of the 2 time (during his tenure) World Champion Cleveland Crunch Indoor Professional Soccer Team, played professional Soccer for 10 years and also was a member of the Canadian National Soccer Team. He also spent 6 years as the Director of Sports Programming at the National Sports Center, a $20 million Sports Complex located in Blaine, Minnesota. Bruce's focus at UXL Sports and Fitness is in the development of our Sports Specific Training Programs to enhance athletic performance for athletes of all levels.

Mark Maslowski (Co-Owner)
Mark has been providing leadership at UXL SPORTS AND FITNESS since the very beginning. Mark has owned and operated health clubs in northeast Ohio for nearly 20 years. He is responsible all day-to-day operations, marketing and new equipment purchasing.
Mark is determined to bring you the "Ultimate Fitness Experience".

Wendy Miller (Group Class)
Wendy has a excellent resume and a long history of employment in the Sports and Fitness Industry! A former competitive bodybuilder in Wisconsin, Wendy is certified as an Instructor in Yoga and Group Cycling. She also served as an Aerobics Instructor in Eau Claire, Wisconsin prior to coming to Ohio. Her Sports background also includes a stint in management at The National Sports Center, a $20 million Sports Complex in Minnesota and host of the 1990 Olympic Sports Festival.

Karin Maslowski (Group Class)
Karin, has been involved in health and wellness for nearly 20 years. Karin's enthusiasm and her range of experiences make her a natural when it comes to combining fun and fitness. Along with being a certified personal trainer (ISSA), Karin is certified in Yoga (Yogafit) and Group Cycle (Lemond Academy).

Nick Skoczen (Dir. of Personal/Team Training)
A 4 year staff member, Nick is a recent graduate (2008) of Cleveland State University with a Bachelor's degree in Exercise Science Nick has taken charge of all of UXL's personal training programs and is a very popular trainer with both individual clients and teams that train at UXL. If you are interested in getting some help to meet your fitness goals, contact Nick at UXL.

Amanda Benson (PM Childcare Supervisor)
Amanda is currently a student at Cuyahoga Community College and has worked as UXL's Evening Childcare Supervisor for approximately 3 years. If you bring your child(ren) in to UXL Monday through Thursday from 5 to 8:15 PM, you can feel confident that your kid(s) will be in good hands while you are getting your workout in!

Aaron Maslowski (Front Desk, Staff Trainer)
Aaron has been a part of UXL for 2 years, and hails from Brunswick Hills. A lifetime athlete, plays football and runs track while attending Highland High School. He looks to attend college and play Division I or II football.Aaron works almost everyday and will help you achieve your fitness goals.

Jackie Thuener (Group Class Instructor)
Jackie's background comes from a love of teaching dance. She has recently expanded her certifications to teach group fitness. Jackie is an AFAA Certified Personal Trainer and Certified Spinning Instructor. She is also from Brunswick and enjoys helping people stay on the right path to a healthy lifestyle.

Christi Skala (Massage Therapist, Group Class Instructor)
Christi is a group class instructor as well as the massage therapist at UXL. She has been instructing for over 3 years and licensed by the State of Ohio for over 6 years to do massage. Christi is trained and certified to do mulitiple types of massage...anything from relaxation to theraputic. "My passion is helping people feel good and live as pain free as possible." - Christi Skala

Annie Cooper (Group Class Instructor)
a lifelong athlete, currently is a competitive Cyclist and Mountain biker. She has won numerous gold medals as the cyclist on Relay teams in Triathlon races. She plans on racing as an expert cyclist this year. A competitive figure skater for most of her life she enjoys the drive of competition. For fun she Cross-Country skis, kayaks, hikes, and backpacks.
She is a Certified Spinning instructor (Madd Dog Athletics), Zumba instructor and Heathway’s Silver Sneakers Instructor. She is currently working on her Personal Training Certification.
